Kitten Care Packages Tailored to Meet Your Needs at Folsom's Blue Ravine Animal Hospital
Examination, vaccination, deworming, and parasite control should ideally begin when kittens are 6-8 weeks of age. If a kitten is younger, early examination and/or deworming may still be beneficial. Kittens should be seen at 3-4 week intervals until the age of 4 months. If vaccinations are begun for a kitten older than 4 months, boosters 3-4 weeks after initial vaccinations are still needed.
Indoor and outdoor kitten packages differ based on your kitten’s risks for and exposure to certain diseases. Click on the links below for descriptions of specific diseases for which we vaccinate.
Indoor Kitten Care Package
This package is for kittens that will remain indoors with a low risk of exposure to disease.Package Includes:
- First two HCP (herpesvirus, calicivirus, panleukopenia virus) vaccines (starting at 8 weeks old and given 3-4 weeks apart). The second HCP booster is good for 3 years
- First rabies vaccine (good for 1 year)
- Feline Leukemia / Feline Immunodeficiency (FELV/FIV) test
- Microchip
- Two fecal exams (used to test for internal parasites)
- Two dewormings
- An exam fee is included for all visits up to 6 months of age
Indoor / Outdoor Kitten Care Package
This package is for kittens with some exposure to the outdoors.Package includes:
- Basic Kitten Package, plus
- Two Leukemia vaccines
** 6 months of flea control (Advantage, Frontline, or Revolution) may be added to either kitten package for an additional fee.
